DMG to ISO Converter

This is the new and simplified dmg2iso 2.0.

Changes in 2.0
The program is now simplified and is just a droppable icon and noting more. The converted file is not called .cdr any more. It gets a .iso suffix. The .cdr file is there for the conversion but then renamed.

What is dmg2iso?
dmg2iso is an AppleScript droplet which will convert a .dmg image to an .iso image. To use, simply drag an image onto dmg2iso's icon. The droplet was written by Johan Kvarnryd. It is a wrapper app for the shell command hdiutil. The source code for this app are available in the .zip file you found this file in. The converting command used by the wrapper app is:

hdiutil convert /path/to/infile -format UDTO -o /path/to/outfile

Some info and background for version 2.0
The new Xcode 4 has no Applescript droplet template any more. That template was the one I used for dmg2iso 1.x. So where do I go from here? Well I could use Xcode 4 and make it a big project or I can make it simple and use the Applescript editor. Sins less is more and I like to keep things simple I remembered the old acronym KISS (Keep It Short and Simple). I choose the simple way. The Applescript editor was the way to go. The program is now just the icon you drop the .dmg files on. If you click to start nothing will happen.

Future plans
Why not make the program in to a service or add the service as a complement to the program? That might be the next thing. We shall see… When I started to play around with Xcode and needed a converter for a dmg file almost 10 years ago I could not believe people would download and use it. So a BIG thanks to all of you how have downloaded dmg2iso I hope you have had some use for it. If you like the program and what to encourage me to go on developing it, yes I know it's a simple thing but so far people downloads this simple little ting, and you like photography as much as I do.
